Consolidation
Intel architecture dominates the entry level and medium level server markets. For several years, the power of these machines has largely exceeded the needs for a great number of applications turning on these platforms. The hardware has exceeded the software.
This situation should result in concentrating a great number of applications on powerful servers.
Unfortunately, in parallel of the rapid increase in power of the machines, the complexity of the software increases as rapidly. This complexity makes the coexistence of several applications on only one server very complex, so the majority of the companies are pushed to choose a model of servers specialized by application.
The virtualisation of Intel platforms on VMware ESX Server makes it possible to fully benefit from the power available in the modern servers, while at the same time maintaining the specialization of the servers by service. Each virtual machine, isolated from the remainder of the machines, uses part of the resources available on ESX Server. The modern consolidation platforms (AMD Opteron architectures by HP in particular) make coexistance of 20 to 40 production servers on the same four-processors dual-core machine possible.
VMware partner from the earliest days, PSideo is capable of providing consolidation solutions, perfectly controlled by our engineers that do not find the specific constraints of the consolidation as obstacles (having a machine that offers the functionalities of physical platform virtualisation, network switches, FC switches requires a multi-field competence perfectly in line with the PSideo philosophy).
No matter if you are interested in the virtualisation in a context of test and development or production, PSideo is your partner of consolidation.
In the field of the consolidation of the desktop, we are capable of providing services on VMware platforms as well as Windows Terminal Services and Citrix platforms.
